Use the built-in word processor to customize your letters and other correspondence. The word processor's toolbar functions are described below.
In addition to the toolbar functions, the word processor also includes:
a convenient right-click menu that enables you to
quickly cut, copy, paste, and delete selected text.
standard Windows keyboard shortcuts, for example,
[CTRL] + U
to underline, [CTRL] + C
to copy, etc.
shortcut keys that allow you to insert symbols into your document, for example, [CTRL] + [ALT] + [T] will display the ™ symbol, and [CTRL] + [ALT] + [R] will display the ® symbol.
NOTE: Merge codes appear as yellow boxes and cannot be edited.
Top toolbar

Click Print to print the document. The appropriate Print window will be displayed for you to specify print settings for your letter, envelope, label, postcard, flyer, or presentation. |

Click Page setup to define paper size and margins. (letters only) |

Click Print preview to see what the letter will look like when printed. From the Print preview page you can use the drop-down list box to set the zoom level, use the scroll bar to view all the pages, use the <<Previous letter and Next letter>> links in the lower left (if previewing multiple letters in a mail out), and click Print from the action menu when ready to print. Click Close when finished. (letters only) |

Click Save as PDF file to save a local copy of your document in Adobe PDF format. From the Save as dialog, browse your computer for a folder in which to save the file and click Save. You can view PDF files using the freely available Acrobat Reader. |

Click the Spelling icon to spell check the document or selected text. |
|
Click Find and replace to find and replace text. |
|
Use these icons to Cut and Copy selected text, then Paste elsewhere on the page. |

Click Undo to undo your last operation, or Redo to redo your last operation. |
|
Click Insert picture from file to add a picture into your document. Click and drag in the middle of the box to move. You can resize the picture by clicking and dragging the square "handles" around the inner border. If the picture is placed over text it will displace the other text to surround the picture. Resize the "padding" area between the picture and surrounding text by clicking and dragging the outer border. |

Use the Bring to front and Send to back icons to send the selected picture or text box to the foreground or background. |

Click the Insert text box icon to add text. If the box is placed over other text it will displace the other text to surround the box. Type your text into the box. You can resize the box by clicking and dragging the square "handles" around the inner border. Resize the "padding" area between the text box and surrounding text by clicking and dragging the outer border. Click and drag in the padding area to move the text box. (letters only) |

Click the Delete object icon to delete the selected object (e.g. text box or picture). |

Click Insert page numbers to display the Insert page numbers dialog. (letters and presentations only) |

Use the Zoom drop-down list box to change the zoom level in the word processor. |

Click the Insert hyperlink icon to insert a hyperlink into the document. The Insert hyperlink pop-up window opens, enabling you to enter the hyperlink text and the URL or web site address |

Click the Set color properties icon to display the Color properties dialog, which you can use to change the background and border color of text boxes and picture boxes. Select the check boxes for no colors; clear them to enable colors. |

Click the All borders icon to determine which borders of the selected text or image box are visible or invisible. By default, all borders are turned on. Click the down arrow and click any of the border option buttons. For example, click the Top and Right border buttons to make the top and right borders of the box invisible. Click the buttons again to make them visible. |

Click the Border line weight icon to adjust the weight of the borders (in points) of the selected text or image box. For example, select a line of 1/4 pt. weight, 1/2 pt. weight, 1 pt. weight, etc. |

Click the Border line style icon to adjust the style of the border of the selected text or image box. For example, select a continuous line, a dotted line, dashed line, etc. |

Click the Preferences icon to set ruler and guideline preferences. Select the Show rulers check box to display the rulers. Select the Show guidelines check box to use guidelines. Select the Snap to guidelines check box to have objects automatically align themselves with the guidelines. |
Bottom toolbar

Click these icons to format text in Bold, Italic, and/or Underline. |

Use the Font color icon and its drop-down box to change the color of the text. |
|
Use these alignment icons to align text to the Left, Center, or Right. |
|
Click the Font type drop-down list box to change the font of the text. |
|
Click the Font size drop-down list box to change the size of the text. |
|
Click the Bullets icon to create a bulleted list. |
|
Click the Numbered list icon to create a numbered list. |
|
Use the Increase indent and Decrease indent icons to change the indent from the margin by 0.5 inches each click. |

Click the Insert page break icon at the cursor's current position. (letters only). |
