Email setup

Before you can use email features, you need to set up your email account. You can set up accounts using the @topproducer.com domain, access your existing POP3 account(s), or choose to use an external email program instead of My email in Top Producer 7i.

To configure email

NOTE: If you are using the Top Producer 7i Setup Wizard, skip to step 3.

1. From the main menu, point to Setup, Preferences and click Email.
    

2. If your email is already set up, you will see the Email preferences page. If not, the Email configuration page opens.

3. To set up your email to use existing POP3 email accounts:
    

• select the I want to set up My email to receive messages from my POP3 accounts option.
  
  You are informed that your existing Top Producer 7i email address will be deleted, however, your messages in the inbox will remain. You are also asked to confirm that you want to proceed with using the existing POP3 email accounts. Click OK if you want to proceed.
   

• If you are using the Top Producer 7i Setup Wizard, proceed to the next bulleted step.
  OR
  If you are not using the Top Producer 7i Setup Wizard, click OK. The Add a new account page opens. Proceed to the next bulleted step.
   

• Enter your account information.
   

• If you are using the Top Producer 7i Setup Wizard, click Next. The Setup wizard - Data transfer page opens. For information on transferring your data, see the Data conversion overview topic.
  OR
  If you are NOT using the Top Producer 7i Setup Wizard, click OK.
   

4. To set up an email account in the @topproducer.com domain:
    

• select the I want to use my @topproducer.com email address option, and then enter a username.
   

• If you are using the Top Producer 7i Setup Wizard, click Next.
  OR
  If you are NOT using the Top Producer 7i Setup Wizard, click OK.
  The Email setup dialog box opens confirming the successful set up of your new email address.
   

• Click OK.
  If you are using the Top Producer 7i Setup Wizard, the Setup wizard - Data transfer page opens. For information on transferring your data, see the Data conversion overview topic.
   

5. If you have no intention of using Top Producer 7i's My email feature:
    

• select the I do not want to use the My email feature option.
   

• If you are using the Top Producer 7i Setup Wizard, click Next. The Setup wizard - Data transfer page opens. For information on transferring your data, see the Data conversion overview topic.
  OR
  If you are NOT using the Top Producer 7i Setup Wizard, click OK.
